Brother in blue or "wanna be"?

You pull up on an active incident. In the middle of it is someone wearing a patch that says "Security" on it. What is your first thought? Maybe you should rethink your thoughts. IF you had to think in the first place maybe you should REALLY rethink your thought process. Just because someone is not "Sworn" does not make him or her an Officer. Passwords you should never use

I have the same love-hate relationship with passwords as most of you. They're necessary to protect confidentiality and security, but they're also a pain in the butt. We're supposed to use a different password for every password-protected computer, account, web site, etc. we use, but most of us use the same one because it's easy to remember.

How Many People Do We Need to Keep in Prison?

While I sat in a dentist's chair a few days ago, having a hygienist stick pointy things into my gums and scrape god-knows-what off of my teeth, I listened to Fox News ("We Report. You Believe.") playing on the TV set my dentist has mounted on the chair. This is supposed to relax me, but I haven't noticed it working. TASER Announces AXON Bodycam

TASER made an announcement this morning of their new AXON product and its associated web site at www.evidence.com.

The AXON is an integrated head-worn bodycam, radio interface, and Linux-based computer that records and manages the output from the camera and microphone. Evidence.com is TASER's video management solution, where the video produced by AXON units is stored remotely and accessible to the subscriber agency.

Suicide method poses an officer safety hazard

There is a method of suicide being publicized around the Internet that can offer a deadly hazard to law enforcement officers and otherts who may come upon the scene of such an incident.



The information was received through our EMS information channels. Elsevier Public Safety publishes Law Officer magazine, but also JEMS and Fire-Rescue magazines, with corresponding web sites.
