Hope to get and share some good ideas from this group. Sgt.s get it from above and below. We need to stick together.

I agree, I was promoted to Sergeant in Jan 09' and I am having a hell of a time adjusting to it. I am looking forward to sharing some info and getting your thoughts and ideas as we forge along in our roles as supervisors.

Just joined the group. It's nice to be with you guys. I'm sure this forum will be valuable for all of us as I have no doubt we all get it from above and below!

I also just joined this group and am looking to share ideas. I have been a sergeant since 1996 and have supervised both in uniform and db(my current assignment). Nice to meet everyone!

I promoted in May 2004. Being right in the middle is perhaps the hardest. It won't get easier, but you will learn to deal with it. This forum could become a valuable to.

Hello everyone. I just joined a bit ago and already believe this is one of the most important groups on this site. Sergeant is often viewed as the most prestigious rank from those below, due to their ability to be involved with patrol officers and still have some influence with the upper adminstration, as long as they use it. It is a difficult balancing act to say the least , as I'm sure DIVING COP is seeing. I was promoted in 2006 and have strived to maintain the goal I had of not forgetting where I came from, patrol. I believe I have and continue to do this. I use this as a guage for myself and possibly the most important advice I give new sergeants. I look forward to networking with you a ll and Be Safe.

My error I meant the newly promoted Robert Snachez, below. (not Diving Cop)

I too agree with Diving Cop in that it is good to see others in our chosen vocation getting involved in this forum. It is already been a great benefit to me in just the short time I have been involved. The key to remember is that you get out of it what you put into it - just like anything else! That definitely holds true for us supervisors - you put time and effort into caring for the troops then you will get much out of them and more in return. That is my opinion anyway! Take care and be safe !
