If anyone has any IPA patches or pins to trade I have patches from the Sunshine Coast Sub-Region to trade as well as a few IPA pins.

In response to Mike Thompson's observation about Italian officers not wearing a vest - most Australian Police don't wear vests either. In the Queensland Police you can apply for approval to wear a vest but you have to purchase it yourself.

Hi all, just joined this group and the patch collectors group. I was the chairman of the Sunshine Coast sub-region for six years but gave it up to let some-one else have a go. Still an IPA member though and the Police Liaison Officer for the sub-region. I collect Police patches and pins so if anyone is keen to do some trading let me know.

Hey guys.

Just got back from overseas on vacation. Visited multiple countries and cities (Rome-italy, Athens-greece, island of crete-greece, kusidasi-turkey, messina-scissily) and I was dumbfounded by the lack of protection these officers are walking the street with. Your common officer is Italy wore nothing but a work shirt, pistol, and a pair of handcuffs (No VEST!!!). Every officer I came in contact with her very friendly and were responsive to foreign officers. Great experience.
