I am a little surprised that there was no comments about the legislation in states such as Wisconsin and Ohio concerning collective bargaining and related issues.  I can see both sides and I think there is room for some compromise.  I hope it can be resolved with both sides feeling good about it.

I am a Lt with the Nevada Dept of Corrections.  I have with the FOP for 10 years or so.  We used to have a Lodge 5 out of Ely Nevada.  The Lodge was entirely Correctional Officer and the only one I knew of like this.  Unfortunately the younger generation of Officers did not understand the significance of being a member as they said they weren't cops and due to retirements and such the old guard has moved on the the Lodge was disbanded.  I am now a member of Lodge 1 out of Las Vegas.  As I live 250 miles north I can't be as active as I would like.  I would like to see more Correctional Officers join FOB to add our support for fellow Officers nationwide.
