Welcome Joe. Did you have to go to FLETC or did the Army have their own LEO training?
Comment by Joseph M. Finck on May 7, 2010 at 1:59pm
The Army has their own training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO; however, I have attended training at FLETC and shoudl be attending another course soon.

Thanks,

Joe

Shlaom - in 1974 I spent 2 months in Israel training Israeli Customs. Definitly an interesting place to be.

I just arrived a week ago from there and I also played with the custom dogs there at the Tel-Aviv airport. I also used to have a friend here at Pearson International airport doing transporters with Jon in 1998 with his dogs. He used to be U.S. Customs who worked with Rose(dog name) and moved to Tijuana Border between Mexico and the U.S. I had a great time with him.

I am a Police officer with the Department fo Veterans Affairs. We are big but not well known. Our departments are evolving with great speed at this time and I enjoy protecting our nations veterans. I have been in LE for 16 years and had a stint as an infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Div. Always looking to network.

I'm the surviving widow of a 20+ year Federal LEO (Sec. Specialist--US AF, NC State Trooper, and US Secret Service). My particular background is in state government as a Magistrate and Probation/Parole Officer, hence, how "we" met. I'm medically retired. My spouse, USSS ATSAIC Chris Smith had a complete cardiac arrest after a 3 mile jog at work, age 41. The claim to have his service and sacrifice honored under the "Hometown Heroes Act" is "On Appeal", represented by FLEOA. So, using DOJ's definition I'm not a bonifide "survivor"--our child thinks otherwise. I'm proud to be a part of this organization and honored to have the privilege to speak among you.
