I think one of the best officer survival books is the grandfather of them all. Officer Down-Code  Three, by Pierce Brooks a retired LAPD homicide investigative boss.  That book was given to me in 1986 when I started my Law Enforcement career and it was very informative and interesting. I still refer to it from time to time, after all these years.
