Finding the motivation to stay fit is not easy for me. The mantra I keep using is something that has been repeated many times by police instructors: "While your getting older, the bad guys are always 25 y/o.", or something similar to that effect. Don't know where it started but it certainly seeems true at times.

P.S. If anyone knows where to get those motivational fitness posters for police I would love to find some. Along the lines of inmates at the weight pile all day, or rows of gangbangers doing work-outs together. That type of thing. I think the USMS had several varieties at one time. Thanks.

Staying in shape helps me to handle the stress of this job. I have also found time and time again, it is important to stay functionally fit. That is why I choose to do Crossfit. Being on patrol and on SWAT, your personal fitness must be taken seriously. I also have to mention here that diet is even more important than fitness. If you put crap in your body, you get crap out.

Stay Safe!
I try my hardest to workout every morning. My motivation comes from not wanting to put my safety aside by getting lazy. My drive is coming home to my wife and kids after each shift! Be safe out there guys/girls. :)
